Intro to Tourism

This is my first discussion in my blog and here I would like give a brief Intro to Tourism Industry. 

What is Tourism Industry?

Travel and Tourism is one the largest industry in the world. More precisely I can tell you that this is the fourth largest industry in the world. It is not only the largest industry but also the fastest growing industry too. It provides lots of employment opportunities to all kind of peoples also, whenever people make their travel arrangement they contributes directly or indirectly to the livelihood of many peoples who works in this Travel and Tourism. Today, tourism is a major source of income for many countries. Tourism can be performed for two purpose either it might be for 'Leisure' or for 'Business', let me discuss about this is on my further posts. Have you ever noticed here that why did I used the term 'Travel and Tourism' instead of using 'Tourism'? What is the role of Travel here? I'll explain you.  Actually, Travel can be defined as a physical transportation of a person from one place to another. This travel industry is also the part of the tourism Industry. Without travelling, tourism activity can't be performed. These two industry are can't be split up in anyways. Hence I've mentioned here as a Travel and Tourism industry. 

Now coming to the Tourism, it can be defined as the activity of a people travelling to visiting and/or staying in a place outside than his/her usual environment, maybe for Business or Leisure. This activity is a temporary and for a short-term, all the activities that are performed in that particular place in that particular time is also considered as a part of tourism. Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity. Tourism can categorized into two they are: Domestic and International Tourism. Since there are different types of tourism which involves in this Industry (I will be discussing about the types of tourism in my furthers post). According to the UNWTO (United Nation World Tourism Organization)'s estimations that the International Tourists Arrivals will reach 1.6 billion by the year 2020. In brief, I can tell you that all the activities like Accommodation, Food & Beverages, Transportation (Airline, Train, Car, etc.,), Visas, Tickets and other operations that are involved to perform the tourism activity are the part of tourism industry. Hence it is known as one of the largest Industry in the world. And everyone who works behind this each process are the part of this Travel and Tourism Industry. UNWTO (United Nation World Tourism Organization) also reports, tourists have spent a very large amount in this tourism industry (evaluated in trillion USD) such a large number of tourists and the brilliant growth of this industry made both Private and Government sector to look after the essence of this Travel and Tourism Industry and its Consequences. And as a result many developing and developed nations are focusing on the tourism and taking steps to develop their tourism resource as well.

Still Tourism has lots and lots of interesting facts and topic that has to be discussed about and I will be doing that in my futures posts.
